Beschreibung: Die Patientin leidet an einem pleomorphen Adenom der linken Wange und Wangendrüsenregion. Nach der operativen Entfernung wurde die Wunde vernäht. In den folgenden Tagen zeigte sich eine gewisse Rötung und Schwellung an der betroffenen Stelle, was zu verstärkten Beschwerden beim Öffnen des Mundes führte. Aufgrund der Operation kann es zu einer Beeinträchtigung der umliegenden Nerven kommen, was zu Schwierigkeiten beim Öffnen des Mundes oder zu einem abnormen Gefühl im Gesicht führen kann. Nach Anwendung der Plasmatherapie gab es eine erhebliche Verbesserung sowohl der Wundheilung als auch der neurologischen Funktionen.

Abbildung 3 -4: Der Gesichtsnerv ist eine Mischung aus motorischen und sensorischen Nerven. Durch die Operation entstand eine Schädigung des Gesichtsnervs, wodurch die linke Gesichtshälfte des Patienten taub und steif wurde und keine Empfindung beim Berühren mehr vorhanden ist.
